How do I access the Platform with Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)?

Updated over a year ago

Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) increases your RightShip Platform account security by adding an additional layer of authentication to your logon & password.

How MFA combines with the Platform login process

When logging in to the Platform you will be prompted to set up MFA. There are two authentication options:

1. Using an authentication App:

Step 1

Enter your username & password, & click 'Continue'.

Step 2

Scan the QR Code using your preferred authenticator App and then enter the provided one-time code & click 'Continue'.

Authenticator App examples:

  • Google Authenticator

  • Microsoft Authenticator

  • Symantec VIP Access

CLICK HERE on how to download and configure your authenticator App.

You will be logged into the Platform.

Step 3a (alternative option)

If you are unable to scan the QR Code as in Step 2 then click 'Trouble Scanning?'.

Step 3b (alternative option)

Manually enter the code shown in your preferred authenticator App and then enter the provided one-time code into the login & click 'Continue'.

Authenticator App examples:

  • Google Authenticator

  • Microsoft Authenticator

  • Symantec VIP Access

You will be logged into the Platform.

2. Using your mobile phone to receive a text message authentication:

Step 1

Enter your username & password, & click 'Continue'.

Step 2

Click 'Try another method'.

Step 3

Click 'SMS'.

Step 4

Enter your mobile phone number, & click 'Continue'.

Step 5

You will receive an SMS text message containing a 6 digit code, enter the code into the login, and click 'Continue'.

You will be logged into the Platform.

Once MFA is setup, your method of authentication is locked to the preferred method you chose. If you need your method of authentication changed, a reset is required.

How to reset your MFA method of authentication:

Reset your MFA method of authentication when you want to change your authentication method from one authenticator App to another, or to SMS etc.

To reset your method of authentication you need to be logged in to the Platform.

Step 1

When logged into the Platform click 'My Account' within your 'Name' at the top right of the screen.

Step 2

Click 'RESET MFA ENROLMENT'.

In the lower right of the screen, a message will appear indicating your MFA method of authentication reset was successful (the message will disappear after a few seconds).

Need help resetting your MFA method of authentication :

If you need to reset your method of authentication but can't log in to the Platform to do it, contact RightShip by email [email protected], or submit a query at https://rightship.com/form-send-an-enquiry/ & a RightShip team member will action the reset.
