MEP Dashboard
The dashboard provides a high‑level overview of vessel‑sourced emissions across all operational modes for a selected date range, with interactive filters to analyse and report on vessel with their emissions profile.

Date Filters
The date filter (top right of page) supports single months, multi‑month, or full year queries by applying the appropriate filters. Click ‘Apply Changes’ in the ‘Month(s)’ filter, to select whatever time period is selected.
Dashboard Controls
Use ‘Dashboard Controls’ (top left) to differentiate between different categories, such as Emission Type, Point of Interest, Vessel Type, and Operation Mode by pressing ‘Apply Filters’. These are a multi-category filters and can be used to identify specific requests for a port. Click ‘Reset to Default’ at any time to return to the default screen.
Key sections
- Vessel statistics: total port calls, distinct vessels, and tugboat jobs; click the bar‑chart icon beside each metric for breakdowns (e.g., calls by vessel type).

- Total emissions: headline totals for GHG and criteria pollutants, including tailored Scope 1 and Scope 3 figures, with a traffic‑light (red, amber, green) comparison against emissions targets (see ‘Emissions Targets). Select any emission type by hovering over an emission to get details in tonnes in terms Actual vs Target.

- Highest contributors: vessels with highest emissions for selected reporting period (GHG in tCO₂e_100yr; pollutants in tonnes) to support diagnostics, targeted engagement, and reporting. Additionally, there is ‘View all Insights’ tab on the top-right of the graph that takes you to the “Insights”.

- Emissions by month: the emissions profile is presented monthly across the selected reporting period. This temporal resolution can reveal operational patterns and seasonality, providing insights into variations driven by port activity and vessel operations. The filter on the top-right allows ‘GHG Emissions’ or ‘Criteria Pollutants’ can be toggled.

- Heat map & Bubble matrices: a heat map is detailed by “Emissions by Point of Interest”; and “Emissions by Vessel Type” and “Emissions by Operation Mode” – show proportionate bubble tables, which depict GHG emissions (CO₂, CH₄, N₂O) and total GHG (tCO₂e_100yr) as well as Criteria Pollutants.
- Heatmap (Emissions by Point of Interest) - shows different shapefiles and heat spot colours depicting vessel emissions base on a scale shown on the top right of the image. Hovering over POI, brings up the POI you are pointing out.
- Bubble Matrix (Emissions by Vessel Type or Operation Mode) - hovering over a ‘bubble’ produces a breakdown of numbers (tonnes), whilst clicking will update the filters and therefore the dashboard.
