Chapter 1: Getting Started with PSC Risk IQ
Chapter 2: Automated Emails & Voyage Automation
00:00: Preparing vessels for Port State Control
00:02: inspections can involve several manual steps, including identifying upcoming port
00:06: calls, assessing inspection and detention risk, generating preparation checklists,
00:11: and sending them to vessel crews.
00:14: In this video we will walk though
00:16: how PSC RiskIQ helps streamline this process by automatically detecting upcoming voyages
00:21: and by sharing PSC tailored checklists, enabling superintendents to prepare
00:26: port calls confidently and efficiently
00:29: PSC RiskIQ uses A I S data to detect each vessel's next likely port call and
00:35: estimated day
00:37: of arrival. When a voyage is detected, PSC RiskIQ automatically creates and maintains
00:42: the upcoming voyage within the platform.
00:45: If the predicted destination port is incorrect, users can edit the port details
00:50: directly within the voyage using the button provided
00:54: This ensures the information reflects the vessel's actual itinerary and supports
00:58: more accurate risk assessment.
01:01: Each voyage is automatically analysed and assigned a PSC Inspection Risk level — High,
01:07: Medium, or Low.
01:09: These risk levels help determine which port calls require additional preparation.
01:15: Admin users can configure PSC RiskIQ to automatically send preparation checklists when
01:20: voyages match selected risk levels by navigating to the vessel preparation settings
01:24: tab.
01:27: and enabling the automated checklist for vessels option
01:31: Admins can choose which PSC Inspection Risk levels trigger checklist emails
01:37: For example, if High and Medium risk are selected, PSC RiskIQ will automatically send
01:43: preparation checklists for voyages that fall within those categories.
01:48: When a voyage matches the configured risk level, PSC RiskIQ
01:52: automatically generates a tailored preparation checklist and sends it directly to the
01:56: crew and/or the superintendent
02:00: PSC RiskIQ also provides a weekly summary email that gives admin users an overview of
02:05: upcoming voyages in the system.
02:08: This summary includes an Excel file listing all upcoming voyages with their risk
02:12: details, as well as a link to view them on PSC RiskIQ.
02:17: Admins can select the day of the week the summary
02:20: From the email, vessel crews can open the checklist and review the preparation items
02:25: related to their upcoming port call
02:28: With automated voyage detection, checklist distribution, and summary notifications,
02:33: PSC RiskIQ helps technical superintendents maintain oversight while reducing the manual
02:38: work involved in preparing vessels for PSC inspections.
